Saturday 11, Oct 2008   Trail Ride at Wheeler Wildlife Refuge 

Time: 11:00 – 2:00

Food:  Bring saddle bag snacks or sandwiches and a drink to eat on the trail

Directions:  From Interstate 565, take exit #5, go to the red light and turn south on County Line Road.  Go 5 ¾ miles and turn left on Jolly B road (Just past big white house on left).  Go ½ mile and turn left on gravel road at the Wheeler Wildlife sign.  Parking area will be about ½ mile on the right.  Once the small parking area is full we will have to park down the edges of the road leaving enough room for others to pass.  

Ride Difficulty:  Easy ride, mainly shady, grave road base – We will be taking the 8 mile loop on the east side of the refuge.  For those that want to continue on a greater adventure there is also another 12 mile loop.

Saturday 18, Oct 2008   Arena play day, trail ride, and cookout at King Farm

Time: 10:00 – 2:00

Food:  Hamburgers and Hot Dogs and drinks will be provided

Directions:  72 West from Athens, go ten (10) miles, turn south (left) onto Shaw Road at the Stop Light (S&Z Store).  Go 1 mile.  The road will bare right and turn into Snake Road.  Bare right and turn right onto the gravel road at the large red barn.     

Activities:  Barrels, Poles, Trail Class, and any other game you can think up.

Saturday 08, November 2008   Trail Ride at Laurel Hill Wildlife Mgt. Area

Time:  11:00 – 3:00

Food:  Bring saddle bag snacks or sandwiches and a drink to eat on the trail

Directions:  From Lawrenceburg, TN, go West on Hwy 64 for 12 miles, turn right on 240, go 5 miles and turn left on 241 (there will be a small brown and yellow sign for Laurel Hill), go 1 mile and turn left on VFW Rd. (another Laurel Hill sign should be there), go ½ mile and turn right on Finnie Rd (1st dirt road), go a mile or so and the parking lot/trail head will be on your right.  If you have trouble with directions the day of the ride you can call Linda’s cell phone at (931)334-4399.

Ride Difficulty:  Challenging, for experienced riders and horses only.  All new trails.

Saturday 13, December 2008   Trail Ride at Bankhead National Forest – Pine Torch Trail

Time:  11:00 – 2:30

Food:  Bring saddle bag snacks or sandwiches and a drink to eat on the trail

Camping: There will be several people camping out at Owl Creek the Friday night before the ride if you would like to join us.  Give Ken a call if you plan on camping.

Directions:  Hwy 33 South from Moulton, top hill go about 2 to 3 miles you will see a brown sign Pine Torch Church. Turn left FS246 trail head is about 1 mile on left.

Ride Difficulty:  Moderate.  11 mile loop.
